Edaran Tan Chong Motor launches the “I’m Nissan Crazy” campaign

-

dsc01058

Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) just launched the “I’m Nissan Crazy” campaign and this fully integrated marketing effort is focused towards bringing Nissan and ETCM closer to the hearts of consumers by engaging them with a series of “I’m Nissan Crazy” advertisements, online games, contests and events.

It started out with an innocent question to Nissan owners, “How crazy are you for your Nissan?” The stories were endless, overwhelming, and most importantly an original Nissan story. It is through their own unique stories, expressed with great honesty that reveal such unequalled passion for their Nissan cars. This led us to embark on our “I’m Nissan Crazy” campaign.

Every story is unscripted, and in their own words. It clearly describes how Nissan owners are seriously crazy about their Nissan. From a custom-fitted mattress in a Grand Livina, a winning Sylphy treasure hunter, to even an Elephant Navara-trucker and a heartwarming Papa Urvan. Within the same premise, Nissan owners are firm believers of reliability, value, performance, comfort and technology in their cars. This further strengthens and reinforces their bond and relationship with Nissan.

In line with the “I’m Nissan Crazy” theme, this campaign will allow the public to enjoy the “Crazy” stories and feel the passion of Nissan owners with their Nissan models. All integrated marketing efforts are channelled to create awareness and build affinity to existing and potential Nissan owners. A series of print advertisements will spear the campaign launch, while a website is to support the campaign’s concerted efforts to engage consumers from both traditional and digital arenas.

The website, www.iamnissancrazy.com.my has been created to offer the public a more interactive platform to view “I’m Nissan Crazy” stories. Besides the stories, the website’s content also focuses on interesting behind-the-scenes snippets of designing, manufacturing and distributing Nissan vehicles. This offers a rare glimpse into the inner workings of Nissan and ETCM via true facts and figures that was never previously made known.

“Transparency equals trust, and as such we have created an online platform to showcase how passionate we (Nissan and ETCM) are to produce and deliver high quality vehicles” said Dato’ Dr. Ang Bon Beng, Executive Director of ETCM.

Those who visit the site will also get a chance to win exciting prizes in the “I’m Nissan Crazy” online game contest. Contestants must prove how crazy they are about Nissan by playing games that test the sight, memory and hearing. Moreover, contestants are also able to win their choice of main prize, from a range of cool electronics gadgets and lifestyle gizmos.

“The “I’m Nissan Crazy’ Campaign enables public at large to interact with the Nissan brand in different ways. As a result, they can engage with a series of activities and most importantly to build their trust, loyalty and love with the Nissan brand!” added Dato’ Dr Ang Bon Beng.

Buy1Win1-Leaflet(F)

This contest is open for customers who buy any Nissan vehicles within the 10 months contest period from 1st June 2009 to 31st March 2010. Qualifying Nissan purchasers within this period will be in the running to win “Nissan Crazy” Grand Prizes beginning with a Grand Livina 1.6 Auto, followed by a Sylphy 2.0L XTRONIC CVT, and for the finale concluding in 31st March 2010, the all-new Murano 3.5L XTRONIC CVT!

This fully integrated marketing effort is focused towards bringing Nissan and ETCM closer to the hearts of consumers by engaging them with a series of “I’m Nissan Crazy” advertisements, online games, contests and events.

Michael Jackson’s Car Collection: Luxuriously Bizarre

michael-jackson-car-collection-7

The passing of the King of Pop has come as a shock to a lot of us. There are some of us who are still coming to terms with the man whose music has been the soundtrack of our childhood and adult life but he will always live on in his music and in our hearts. Micheal was probably the best entertainer of our era and with this he made a fortune. Now that he has passed on, WorldCarFans takes a look at his collection of cars. Click the jump to read the article and view his collection.

Back in February it was announced that a collection of items belonging to Michael Jackson would be auctioned off, including his own fleet of vehicles. Although that auction was cancelled in mid-April, it gave us a chance see how the King of Pop lived while being chauffeured around California.

Now that MJ has passed on, we decided to take a look back at these vehicles. It is unknown what will happen to many of the Neverland Ranch possessions (Jackson did have a lot of debt), and surely some of these will wind up either on the auction block, or in a museum.

Jackson owned at least four limousines, including a 1999 Rolls Royce Silver Seraph that was unusually decorated, to say the least. Our friends at Jalopnik described it well, when they said, “The dark blue Seraph wears an interior which looks to have been pulled directly from the Palace of Versailles.” Jackson was said to have designed the interior himself, which probably explains the generous use of 24-carat gold. The vehicle was said to have a 5.4-liter V12 aluminum engine that generated up to 322 horsepower.

He also owned a 1990 RollS Royce Silver Spur II, trimmed in contrasting white leather and black fabric. Dark, tinted windows were adorned in white curtains, and a full-service bar that was used for god-knows-what. His white, 1988 Lincoln Town Car had a much more subdued interior that used gray leather and fabric. The fourth limo is the same 1954 Cadillac Fleetwood used during the filming of Driving Miss Daisy. Jackson’s collection included a 1997 Neoplan Tour Bus with individual seats and booths, and a king’s crown embroidered in the carpet. Possibly used on the HIStory World Tour, the bus featured a bathroom lined in porcelain, gold, and granite.

A few of his other vehicles included a 1993 Ford Econoline van with leather seats, individual tv screens, and an old-school video game console, a 1986 GMC High Sierra firetruck, a 1988 GMC Jimmy, and a replica of a 1909 Detamble Model B Roadster. Amongst the collection was an electrified horse-drawn carriage, and a 2001 Harley Davidson touring police bike.

Rise ‘n’ Shine: A Weekend of Michael Jackson Tributes & Tribulations

•  Janet Jackson attended the BET Awards to pay tribute to her brother, Michael Jackson. Father Joe Jackson also made an appearance and a statement on behalf of the family.

When the star’s autopsy was ruled inconclusive pending the toxicology report due in six to eight weeks, the family requested a second go-round before they take possession of his remains for a burial.

Jackson’s personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, claims he did not give or prescribe his patient Demerol or Oxycontin and, after a three-hour interview, the LAPD has deemed him no more than a witness in their investigation. Meanwhile, Jackson’s former nanny, Grace Rwaramba, tells the British press of Michael’s prescription drug use.

As A-listers continued to share their mourning moments, ex-wife Lisa Marie Presley blogged about a prophetic conversation she once had with Michael in which he predicted his own untimely demise.

Jackson, Farrah Fawcett and Ed McMahon were joined in the afterlife by TV pitchman Billy Mays.

2010 Mitsubishi Lancer lineup includes new MR Limited

The good folks from Mitsubishi had promised we’d be getting here in the States this summer as an early 2010 model? Well, Mitsubishi has delivered. Sort of. A few Mitsu reps drove down to Irvine from Cypress with a genuine 2010 Ralliart Sportback. And not only that, but they dragged along an Evo GSR and an all-new MR Limited as well.

The Ralliart Sportback drew a lot of attention for its shape, but the Limited was the one that caught our eye. It’s a regular old MR with a few differences. In place of the Alcantara bits, Mitsubishi has gone all-cowhide inside. There are also a few additions to the standard options list, including an Evo-first moonroof. Out back, the car has gone undercover by foregoing the large wing that has heretofore characterized the Evo sedans. Sounds like the Evo MR for grownups. Mitsu’s reps remained tight-lipped on the details, but pricing is likely to top $40,000 for this model.
