Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) just launched the “I’m Nissan Crazy” campaign and this fully integrated marketing effort is focused towards bringing Nissan and ETCM closer to the hearts of consumers by engaging them with a series of “I’m Nissan Crazy” advertisements, online games, contests and events.
It started out with an innocent question to Nissan owners, “How crazy are you for your Nissan?” The stories were endless, overwhelming, and most importantly an original Nissan story. It is through their own unique stories, expressed with great honesty that reveal such unequalled passion for their Nissan cars. This led us to embark on our “I’m Nissan Crazy” campaign.
Every story is unscripted, and in their own words. It clearly describes how Nissan owners are seriously crazy about their Nissan. From a custom-fitted mattress in a Grand Livina, a winning Sylphy treasure hunter, to even an Elephant Navara-trucker and a heartwarming Papa Urvan. Within the same premise, Nissan owners are firm believers of reliability, value, performance, comfort and technology in their cars. This further strengthens and reinforces their bond and relationship with Nissan.

In line with the “I’m Nissan Crazy” theme, this campaign will allow the public to enjoy the “Crazy” stories and feel the passion of Nissan owners with their Nissan models. All integrated marketing efforts are channelled to create awareness and build affinity to existing and potential Nissan owners. A series of print advertisements will spear the campaign launch, while a website is to support the campaign’s concerted efforts to engage consumers from both traditional and digital arenas.
The website, www.iamnissancrazy.com.my has been created to offer the public a more interactive platform to view “I’m Nissan Crazy” stories. Besides the stories, the website’s content also focuses on interesting behind-the-scenes snippets of designing, manufacturing and distributing Nissan vehicles. This offers a rare glimpse into the inner workings of Nissan and ETCM via true facts and figures that was never previously made known.
“Transparency equals trust, and as such we have created an online platform to showcase how passionate we (Nissan and ETCM) are to produce and deliver high quality vehicles” said Dato’ Dr. Ang Bon Beng, Executive Director of ETCM.
Those who visit the site will also get a chance to win exciting prizes in the “I’m Nissan Crazy” online game contest. Contestants must prove how crazy they are about Nissan by playing games that test the sight, memory and hearing. Moreover, contestants are also able to win their choice of main prize, from a range of cool electronics gadgets and lifestyle gizmos.
“The “I’m Nissan Crazy’ Campaign enables public at large to interact with the Nissan brand in different ways. As a result, they can engage with a series of activities and most importantly to build their trust, loyalty and love with the Nissan brand!” added Dato’ Dr Ang Bon Beng.

This contest is open for customers who buy any Nissan vehicles within the 10 months contest period from 1st June 2009 to 31st March 2010. Qualifying Nissan purchasers within this period will be in the running to win “Nissan Crazy” Grand Prizes beginning with a Grand Livina 1.6 Auto, followed by a Sylphy 2.0L XTRONIC CVT, and for the finale concluding in 31st March 2010, the all-new Murano 3.5L XTRONIC CVT!
